I am a regular guest at St. Winifred's Hotel and particularly appreciate the homely atmosphere and the welcoming staff. Nothing is too much trouble and every effort is made to ensure one is comfortable.
There is nothing that I would wish to criticize about St. Winifred's.

My third stay at St. Winifred's. Most friendly and accommodating staff, good food, pleasant room with marvellous sea/mountain view. Would confidently recommend as a value for money hotel. Genuinely helpful staff - nothing too much trouble. Home from home.

We Didn't like the place at all.
This was a bed & breakfast with a sea view. The breakfast was mediocre for although the fried breakfast was ok, there was nothing else like the usual cereals or fruit juice etc. The shower didn't work, there wasn't a shelf or coat hook in the tiny bathroom, no shampoo or bath salts just a tiny round piece of soap, Even the toilet tissue was of the budget supermarket brand. We paid £70.00. for a room, and the couple with us paid £70.00. for the other half of the room because the room had been partitioned off so we each had half a bay window. I wouldn't stay here again if it was a free offer on a cornflakes packet. If we wanted to stay in a bed & breakfast establishment we could have found somewhere for around half the price we paid, and had it been as bad as this place we would have still have been disappointed. I'd like to say the place is a joke, but it just wasn't funny..

Very courteous owners and staff. Great location with beautiful views
This hotel is an old building and some cosmetic renovations (paint and some carpets) would improve the overall appearance. Perhaps these have been deferred due to current economic conditions.

The people who ran the hotel were very helpful. The breakfast was also very nice. Excellent value for money.
If the hotel wants to encourage business people and coach tours to their hotel, they need to start breakfast much earlier (9am for us). It also urgently needs redecoration. This is a hotel with a lot of potential, it just needs some tlc.

The hotel was clean and tidy but could do with redecorating and bringing up to date. Breakfast was good and freshley cooked, staff were freindly and accomadating.

This hotel is in need of a comlete revamp. At the very least it needs a safety review. The service at breakfast was dreadful with hot breakfasts being delivered before cereals, hot drink orders forgotten altogether and staff whos, not through any fauilt of there own, whoo clearly had no idea about service. This is not a complaint but a reflection of my overall exlerience.

Location was very good, and the front bedroom over-looking the sea was a very pleasant prospect. Staff were friendly if a little low-key and not very obvious.
I would recommend the hotel to others but would say that it lacks smartness and attention to detail like lighting, bathroom provision and bed-side power-points. Some B+B places offer a more generous self-service breakfast for the same price.

Clean and tidy, cheap and close to the ferry we needed to catch.

Good for our purpose. We were going to catch a ferry the next morning from Haysham Ferry Terminal, just up the road, otherwise nothing outstanding. Would I stay there again ? Probably not.
The interior all looked a little bit drab, run down and uninviting, however everything was nice and clean so no problem there.

The warm welcome, comfortable and warm room. Very attentive and friendly hostess. Beautifull location and ideal for short walk to town. Good breakfast choice, very tasty and filling.
Happy to say nothing on this Point.
